BANGGAI POST, JAKARTA – Pada umumnya kalangan Pejabat Negara, seringkali hanya membacakan sambutan yang sudah dikonsep oleh bagian atau staf tertentu. Namun berbeda bagi Ketua Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) Komjen Pol Drs. H. Firli Bahuri, M.Si. Tak banyak yang tahu, ternyata mantan Kabaharkam Polri itu sering mengonsep tulisan kata sambutannya sendiri. Bahkan juga seorang Firli Bahuri juga memiliki kemampuan membuat puisi seperti yang dibacakannya pada saat acara peringatan HUT Kemerdekaan RI 17 Agustus 2020 lalu, di studio RRI.
Tak heran, banyak tulisan-tulisan fenomenal termasuk puisi karya Firli yang menginspirasi. Sebagian besar berisi tentang momentum peringatan hari bersejarah Indonesia.
Goresan karya puisi Firli diantaranya berjudul _”Hidup Bermakna Bermain Dengan Cinta”_ dan _”Membangun Martabat Bangsa”._
“Itu wujud komitmen dan kecintaan saya untuk terus menulis memaknai hari hari bersejarah perjalanan Bangsa Indonesia,” kata Firli menjawab pertanyaan wartawan terkait sambutannya tentang Peringatan Hari Polwan Ke-72, Selasa (1/9).
Selain soal sejarah perjalanan bangsa, mantan Kapolda Sumatera Selatan itu pun menulis sendiri sambutan yang akan disampaikan. “Saya selalu menulis sendiri tulisan atau sambutan yang akan saya sampaikan,” tuturnya.
Terkadang, Firli menulis soal apapun termasuk pokok pikirannya dalam pemberantasan korupsi saat sedang dalam mobil di perjalanan. “Ya, terkadang saat perjalanan, saya membuat tulisan di dalam mobil,” ungkapnya.
Firli pun menyoroti minat baca tulis kita yang masih tergolong rendah. “Tidak dapat dipungkiri, minat baca dan menulis masyarakat Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Berbagai hasil survei dan penelitian tingkat nasional hingga internasional, telah membuktikan hal tersebut,” ungkapnya.
Ia pun mengatakan jujur, miris, dan pilu melihat kebiasaan membaca dan menulis mulai ditinggalkan, tergerus perkembangan zaman dan kemajuan teknologi.
“Di mana waktu anak-anak kita, masa depan bangsa ini, dihabiskan oleh “smartphone, gadget” atau “game”,” kata Firli.
Menurut dia, sudah sangat jarang terlihat anak-anak maupun remaja membawa buku, baik itu buku pelajaran, buku cerita, novel, dan lain sebagainya.

Ia mengatakan perkembangan zaman dan kemajuan teknologi tentu tidak dapat dilawan, namun kita dapat menyelaraskannya dengan nilai-nilai atau budaya seperti membaca dan menulis melalui cara yang berbeda.
“Rendahnya budaya literasi di Indonesia khsususnya pada generasi zaman “now”, tentu telah menjadi tantangan tersendiri yang perlu kita sikapi bersama, segenap elemen bangsa,” ucap Firli.
Namun, kata dia, tidak ada kata terlambat bagi kita untuk membiasakan diri membaca atau menulis. Dengan membaca, kita dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan setelah meresapi, menganalisa, dan menginterpretasi esensi buku tersebut.
Oleh karena itu, kata dia, begitu pentingnya kita membiasakan diri dan anak-anak kita untuk membaca atau menulis dari sejak dini karena masa depan suatu bangsa tergantung kepada karakter generasi muda yang saat ini sangat rentan terpengaruh sisi negatif, dari pesatnya perkembangan zaman dan teknologi.
“Mengenalkan manfaat buku kepada mereka, Insya Allah dapat menjadi filter untuk menyaring berbagai macam informasi yang masuk kepada generasi muda kita agar tidak kehilangan arah dalam membentuk karakter calon penerus masa depan bangsa,” kata dia.
Ia pun sependapat dengan Esther Meynell, penulis kelahiran Leeds Inggris tahun 1878, bahwasanya buku bagi seorang anak yang membaca, lebih dari sekadar buku tetapi merupakan impian sekaligus pengetahuan dan masa depan sekaligus masa silam.
